Tara VanDerveer arrived at Stanford in 1985 during the Reagan administration, in the year of New Coke, Duran Duran and Joe Montana's Super Bowl win over Dan Marino.

She's seen a lot in 27 seasons, but she'd never witnessed something like the Cardinal's 61-35 loss to Connecticut. Never seen her team thrashed so badly on its homecourt. Never seen the Cardinal held to a program low in both field goals and field goal percentage.

The fact that Stanford entered Saturday's game against mighty UConn as the No.1 ranked team in the country made it even more embarrassing.
