It's enough to look like the Irish belonged on the same field with mighty USC, something that wasn't the case in lopsided losses the past two years. It's enough to take the Trojans down to the final play, the final second.
As Irish center Eric Olsen stood in a media interview room surrounded by team pictures of past Irish national champions, he uttered the following words:
"At least we didn't lose 38-0.''
